Despite spinning during Pocono Cup practise, Ross Chastain is still the fastest

In the NASCAR Cup Series race on Saturday at Pocono Raceway, Ross Chastain spun out but still finished first.

Chastain set the quickest overall average track pace in practise earlier in Group B, clocking in at 167.719 mph.

Though Chastain’s No. 1 Chevrolet spun off Turn 3 and down the frontstretch with just over a minute left in Group B, it just appeared to have a flat tyre and sustained no other apparent damage.

Christopher Bell, who won the race last week, finished second overall (167.635 mph), and Daniel Suarez came in third (167.345 mph).

Fourth place went to Kurt Busch, while Kyle Larson rounded out the top five. Group B has the top four fastest average speeds.

Chase Elliott had the highest average pace of all the drivers who completed at least 10 consecutive circuits, clocking in at 166.509 mph. In that division, Kurt Busch came in third and Kyle Busch second.
