After Channel 4 purchased the broadcasting rights, UK audiences will be able to watch Formula E on free-to-air television.
Formula E and Channel 4 have struck a multi-year partnership that will see the UK television channel become the championship’s exclusive free-to-air home starting in 2022.
Channel 4 and All 4, as well as Channel 4 Sport’s YouTube channel, will broadcast the complete 16-race schedule for Season 8 of the all-electric series live.
Race highlights will be broadcast on Account 4 and All 4, and qualifying sessions will be live streamed on Channel 4 Sport’s YouTube channel.
Veteran announcers Vernon Kay and Nicki Shields, as well as experienced analyst Dario Franchitti and commentator Jack Nicholls, will host the coverage.
“Formula E is a fantastically exciting sport and this deal is wonderful news for sports fans,” said Pete Andrews, Head of Sport at Channel 4.
“We’re proud to be showcasing a sport with sustainability at its heart and one that plays such an important role in seeking to combat the climate crisis.”
