As the motorsport returns to the Miami International Autodrome for the first time, racers will have 3 DRS zones to experiment with.
The FIA has announced that 3 DRS zones will be in operation at this weekend’s Miami Grand Prix.
The initial detection site is located right after Turn 8 on the 5.412-kilometer Miami International Autodrome, with activation taking place between Turns 9 and 11.
The second detection line is located at the exit of Turn 16, with activation on the long straight prior to Turn 17, and the last detection area is located between Turns 17 and 18, with activation along the main straight.
How many other sites have three DRS zones?
Sakhir (Bahrain), Jeddah (Saudi Arabia), the Red Bull Ring (Austria), the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez (Mexico), and Albert Park (Australia) are the only circuits on the F1 schedule with more than 3 DRS areas for a whole weekend (Australia).
Albert Park appeared to be on track to break records in 2022, with four DRS areas initially planned, only to be reduced to three after practise.
