Four more racers, notably reigning Cup champion Kyle Larson, were ousted from the playoffs in a tumultuous cut-off race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway Roval.
By winning the race, Christopher Bell escaped elimination, and Chase Briscoe just barely defeated Larson to advance to the following round. The updated point rankings are shown below.
Daniel Suarez of Trackhouse Racing, Austin Cindric of Team Penske, and Alex Bowman and Kyle Larson of Hendrick were were eliminated at the finish line.
Prior to the Round of 8, which will see the Cup Series visit Martinsville Speedway, Homestead-Miami Speedway, and Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Chase Elliott is returning to the first place in the updated rankings.
