Josh Williams, who has driven the No. 92 entry for DGM Racing in the NASCAR Xfinity Series for the past two seasons, will not be returning in 2022.
Williams worked for the group part-time in 2017 and 2018 before joining full-time in 2019.
Williams finished 18th in the Xfinity Series points this season. In June, he finished 10th at the Mid-Ohio Sports Car Course.
In 125 starts with the company, his best performance was a sixth-place finish at Kansas Speedway in October 2020. Williams was overcome with emotion during that run, as he was mourning the loss of a friend and an employee who had died just one day earlier.
Williams has become recognized for visiting patients at children’s hospitals across the country in recent years, in addition to his on-track exploits.
Williams was unable to visit Phoenix Children’s Hospital during the 2021 season finale weekend at Phoenix Raceway owing to COVID-19 protocols. Instead, Williams took a virtual tour of the garage with several patients.
DGM Racing wants to field at least two cars in 2022, according to the company. The complete driver list will be revealed at a later time.
DGM entered full-time drivers Williams (No. 92) and Alex Labbe this season (No. 36). A third car, the No. 90, also used a rotating driver roster for the majority of the races.
