Following an alleged transgression by Lewis Hamilton on the cooldown lap, Mercedes has been summoned before the stewards in Brazil.
Mercedes has been summoned to the stewards for an alleged transgression by Lewis Hamilton during the Brazilian Grand Prix’s conclusion.
The crew was summoned after Hamilton was involved in an incident on the warm-up lap. The race winner reportedly undid his safety belts to pick up a Brazilian flag from a steward on the course.
This would be a violation of the FIA’s International Sporting Code, which specifies in Appendix L Chapter III Article 4: “Drivers must be properly restrained in their seat by safety belts in conformity with the Technical Regulations for the vehicle concerned, at all times during a competition when it is mobile on a circuit, pit lane, special stage or competition course.”
At 17:00 local time (20:00 in the UK), Mercedes’ Sporting Director Ron Meadows will meet with the stewards at the Interlagos Circuit.
