The last round of NASCAR Cup Series qualifying on Saturday in Nashville was postponed due to a timely downpour, and Denny Hamlin benefited.
A significant downpour suddenly appeared near Nashville (Tenn.) Superspeedway immediately after the first round of qualifying ended, drenching the racetrack.
Due to NASCAR’s unexpected cancellation of the last round, Hamlin won the starting position for Sunday’s race using his quickest average lap pace from Round 1. (160.413 mph).
For Hamlin, it is his second pole of the year and 35th overall.
Kyle Larson, who won the race last year, finished third, while Joey Logano, who finished second-fastest, was third (160.107 mph) (159.963 mph). Chase Elliott came in at number four, and Daniel Suarez finished in fifth.
Ryan Blaney, Ross Chastain, Kevin Harvick, Christopher Bell, and Martin Truex Jr. round out the top ten.
