F1 rankings: Verstappen passes Leclerc

The triumph of Max Verstappen and the withdrawal of Charles Leclerc at the Spanish Grand Prix resulted in a shift in the F1 World Championship position.

After a thrilling Spanish Grand Prix, Red Bull racer Max Verstappen has passed Ferrari opponent Charles Leclerc in the Formula One title chase.

Verstappen currently leads Leclerc by 6 points after the Dutchman’s triumph and the Monegasque’s withdrawal. Verstappen was 19 points behind Leclerc entering into the weekend.

With Mercedes’ early-season troubles, Sergio Perez is 3rd after clinching a Red Bull 1-2, and George Russell’s finish places him #4, just 36 points behind Verstappen.

Red Bull has overtaken Ferrari in the Constructors’ rankings and now leads by 26 points, with Merc in third place, 49 points behind.
