Early on in their second practice session at Zandvoort, the two Australian racers collided with one another.
In second practice for the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort, two drivers collided at Turn 3: Oscar Piastri and Daniel Ricciardo.
At the sharply curved Turn 3, Piastri was one of the first to lose control of his McLaren, spinning into the wall and severely damaging both ends of his MCL60.
When Ricciardo was required to take a defensive action, he locked up, causing damage to the front of his AlphaTauri and withdrawing from the practice.
Although neither car managed to reach the pits, both racers were able to exit them. After raising the red flags for the cleanup process, activity resumed after slightly over ten minutes.
With Ricciardo for AlphaTauri down in 13th place after FP1, Piastri had placed eighth overall.
