With a remarkable final performance, Sergio Perez snatched pole position for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix. Check out the complete qualifying standings from the Jeddah Corniche Circuit.
Sergio Perez of Red Bull secured his first F1 pole position in dramatic fashion during qualifying for the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix, overtaking the Ferrari drivers.
At the Jeddah Cornice Circuit, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz were battling for first place until Perez put in a superb last attempt to take pole, forcing the Ferrari duo to take second and third.
Max Verstappen finished fourth in the other Red Bull, with Esteban Ocon of Alpine and George Russell of Mercedes rounding out the top six – the latter’s teammate, Lewis Hamilton, being eliminated in spectacular fashion in Q1.
After a severe collision for Mick Schumacher, who was brought to the hospital for examinations, qualifying was postponed in the second phase.
