The Mercedes team has provided information regarding what happened when German racer Mick Schumacher came to visit their Brackley facility for a seat fit as he gets ready for his upcoming position as a third driver.
Nico Hulkenberg will take Schumacher’s seat at Haas for 2023, and it was announced in December that Schumacher would participate in the Silver Arrows as a backup.
The German has now made the necessary preparations to be race-ready should he need to step in at any point during the upcoming season.
In a recent team short clip, Schumacher is seen going to their Brackley headquarters to get his seat-fitting process completed.
While Schumacher’s position will also require him to perform marketing and simulator responsibilities for Mercedes in addition to his reserve role, he will also be available to McLaren as a backup racer if necessary.
