Watch Fernando Alonso’s first trip to the Aston Martin manufacturing facility as he seeks to boost the team’s chances of victory in 2023.
This week, Fernando Alonso paid his first visit to the Silverstone Aston Martin F1 facility.
In 2023, the Spaniard switches from Alpine to take Sebastian Vettel’s position, who ended his professional career at the end of the previous year.
The first day of this week was spent by Alonso getting to know the team, spending time in their simulator, and getting a seat customized for the new vehicle.
After having Alonso participate in the Abu Dhabi post-season trial in the AMR22, the team observed a “immediate” effect of his appearance. Additionally, the squad has been actively recruiting, poaching drivers from Mercedes, Alfa Romeo, and Red Bull.
After a dismal beginning to the ‘new age’ set of rules, they will be trying to turn things around in 2023. They matched their seventh-place finish in the Constructors’ Championship from 2021, although they still finished with less points and no podiums.
