Zak O’Sullivan, a rising star in Formula 3 and a Williams Academy racer, got his first taste of an F1 car at Silverstone after earning the Aston Martin British Racing Driver Club Young Driver award.

O’Sullivan, a British driver who won the GB3 championship in 2021, competed in F3 this year with Carlin and finished 2nd at Silverstone as his best possible result.

The F1 team supports the Aston Martin British Racing Driver Club Young Driver, which was established to honour young race car drivers from the UK. Recent winners include Lando Norris, Anthony Davidson, George Russell, Jenson Button, David Coulthard, and Jenson Button.

Drivers test F1 cars and receive an Arai crash helmet, complete BRDC membership, and £200,000 if they triumph.

The 2021 AMR21 was tested by O’Sullivan this year, making it the first time a car from the present hybrid period has been included in the test.
