After experiencing a technical problem during qualifying on Saturday, Max Verstappen began the race from P10, closely followed by Sergio Perez in P11.

Nevertheless, in the race on Sunday, both racers made progress. Verstappen in particular showed signs of improvement and went on to secure his eighth victory of the year, increasing his lead in the World Championship rankings.

The Dutchman thus won F1’s Driver of the Day title after receiving 34% of the vote, which was decided by fans. Lewis Hamilton, his closest rival, finished with 16%.
