Keselowski is in charge of a big NASCAR team in the 2022 Snowball Derby

The excellent group of NASCAR racers who joined the 55th Snowball Derby this year is led by Brad Keselowski.

Keselowski, a present racer and part-owner of Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing and a former Cup Series winner, confirmed on Tuesday that he would compete in the famous Super Late Model race for the first time.

Nov. 30-Dec. 4 at Pensacola, Florida’s Five Flags Speedway are the dates set for the 55th annual Snowball Derby.

“The Snowball Derby is essentially an all-star race as it attracts some of the biggest names in short track racing, as well as some of my competitors from NASCAR,” said Keselowski. “This is my first time behind the wheel at the Derby.”

Keselowski’s No. 6 Ford will be sponsored by FR8Auctions throughout the race.

For Keselowski, the competition will be something of a reunion since he will be driving a FURY Race Cars car with Tony Eury Jr. as his crew chief. FURY is partially owned by Eury Jr.

In 2009, while Keselowski was racing in the Cup Series on a part-time basis for Hendrick Motorsports, he teamed up with Eury Jr.

“Having the opportunity to work together again with Tony Jr. and ‘Pops’ (Tony Eury Sr.) makes this whole program even more special,” Keselowski said.

“This is going to be a lot fun to be sure, but we are all racers, so we’re headed down to Pensacola to compete for a win!”

The 300-lap race will feature a number of other NASCAR regulars, including Cup drivers Erik Jones and William Byron, Josh Berry, Sammy Smith, and Noah Gragson who ran in the Xfinity Series this season, as well as Ty Majeski, Corey Heim, Chandler Smith, Carson Hocevar, and Connor Mosack who ran in the Trucks division in 2022.

Last year’s victor was Chandler Smith, followed by Majeski in 2020, Gragson in 2018, and Jones, who has won twice (2012 and 2013).
