In addition to praising his race-winning son Max’s driving skills, Jos Verstappen praised the Red Bull squad for their tactical decisions during the Hungarian Grand Prix.
After his son Max Verstappen’s tenth triumph of the year in Hungary, Jos Verstappen was all praise for both his Red Bull squad and his son.
After winning the Hungarian Grand Prix from grid position 10, Max Verstappen increased his title lead to 80 points.
Jos, Max’s father and a former Formula 1 racer, said he didn’t need to offer any advise prior to Max’s unlikely triumph from the fifth row of the grid.
“He did a fantastic job,” enthused Jos to Viaplay.
“I don’t need to tell him anything, the good thing is that he understands himself.”
Verstappen commends the Red Bull race strategy
Jos went on to say that he believed the success was largely due to the efforts of the squad and racer.
“I think the strategy was good, starting on the right tyres, stopping at the right moment, passing the people easily, like he always does,” Verstappen added.
“We had a good race car. We could see they’re already in qualifying. Certainly the pace was there.”
