Romain Grosjean hit the walls once more during qualifying for this weekend’s Detroit Grand Prix after colliding with them during the Indy 500 previous weekend.
At Belle Isle on Saturday during the IndyCar Detroit Grand Prix qualifying session, former Formula One racer Romain Grosjean suffered an accident.
The Frenchman was speeding around the track when he hit the outside barrier with his left rear tyre, damaging his suspension and causing him to crash into the barrier at the next corner.
Josef Newgarden is on the pole for Sunday’s race, and Grosjean, who was unharmed in the collision, will start from position 12.
After retiring on lap 105 of previous week’s Indy 500 after colliding with the Turn 2 barriers at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, Grosjean has now experienced two crashes in as many IndyCar racing weekends.
