Eddie Jordan, an earlier F1 team owner, thinks that Lewis Hamilton joining Ferrari might be a “match made in heaven” even though the seven-time World Champion has said he has no immediate intentions of leaving Mercedes.
Eddie Jordan thinks that if Lewis Hamilton joined Ferrari, it would “eradicate” a lot of their difficulties.
Despite Mercedes having a challenging beginning to the 2023 season, Hamilton has already wiped off any suggestion that he would be attracted to move elsewhere.
Nevertheless, if the Silver Arrows keep struggling, there has been speculation that the British racer might think about switching teams. Former F1 racer Martin Brundle wondered whether a move to Ferrari may be possible.
Jordan, an earlier team manager, has since stepped in and said that Hamilton entering the Scuderia might be the best possible partnership for everyone involved.
Jordan: Both Ferrari and Hamilton require change.
Jordan stated, “In my opinion, Ferrari is the only place he could go.”
” A guy with the talent that he is, and I think it might be a [match made] in heaven. I think Ferrari need shaking up and I think Lewis Hamilton needs shaking up, if they are going to continue.
“If Lewis is going to continue then I think he needs a change. For his mindset, for his drive, for an initiative, for fun. Learning Italian, dealing and eating pasta with those guys, it’s a different world.
“And having run a team we always saw how different Ferrari operates and I would love to see Lewis in that environment.”
Jordan believes that a race involving Hamilton and Ferrari would be “amazing”
Jordan believes Hamilton might have a good impact on solving Ferrari’s difficulties as their championship challenge in 2022 is fading due to a number of reliability failures, driving errors, and strategy errors.
“I think he could really shake them up,” Jordan said.
“I think he could bring a new sense of direction to them, I think he would eradicate a lot of the little problems Ferrari have had.
“So therefore, I would just like to see before he fully retires, I would like to see Lewis there for a year or two to see what would happen.
“Just think of the column inches. It’s an amazing story. It’s unlikely to happen but it’s my dream.”
