Hamilton faces a grid penalty because of an Abu Dhabi practise infraction

Lewis Hamilton, a racer with Mercedes, is being looked into for failing to slow down at a red light in FP3.

The stewards have begun an investigation into Lewis Hamilton for refusing to slow down at a red flag in Abu Dhabi Grand Prix Free Practice 3.

During the session, a red flag was raised because debris needed to be cleared up after Pierre Gasly punctured his tyre coming out of Turn 10.

When the red flag was raised during FP3, Hamilton seemed to overtake Lando Norris and Kevin Magnussen as he approached Turn 5.

In the past, racers have received a grid penalty for refusing to slow down when there was a yellow flag, notably Max Verstappen at the Qatar race last year.
