Verstappen and Leclerc aren’t the only racers who impressed in the F1 2022 qualifying duels

F1 2022 qualifying duels

Racers and squads are taking a well-deserved summer break now that the first half of the 2022 Formula One season is over. It’s also the perfect opportunity to evaluate this season’s intra-team qualification contests. At each squad, who is setting the pace?

F1 2022 qualifying duels

Considering that they are the only two racers on the grid running the same equipment (the majority of the time), teammates in Formula One serve as the best benchmarks for one another.

There are 13 Grands Prix, and more precisely 13 qualifying sessions, for racers and squads to review and evaluate level of performance as they take the summer break.

Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc, who have outperformed Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz by a margin of 10 qualifying sessions to 3, are at the top of the leaderboard and have significant leads over their teammates.

The three players that have outperformed their teammates in all but two of the sessions are Lando Norris, Kevin Magnussen, and Alexander Albon.

Currently, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell of Mercedes are in a close race; the score is 7-6 in the young driver’s favour.
